We Work Nights is the sophomore release from GOLD PANDA’s new album Half of Where You Live. In keeping with the record’s first release Brazil, it’s something of a sunny soundscape, pertaining to far-off exotic places where the drinks come in coconuts and everyone’s in shorts.

It’s an intricate composition of shimmering flourishes and stuttering, melodic rhythms laid over a semi-religious beat. With the release of We Work Nights it would seem that Gold Panda’s working up to an album of tropical temperament: the soundtrack to warm summers in overseas cities. The bright sounds are an intended tonic to those stuck in the mundane, unsociable jobs he used to work, as the track is bittersweetly dedicated to “anyone getting paid shit money to work terrible unsociable hours.”

Gold Panda’s new album, Half of Where You Live, is set for release June 10th via Ghostly International and NOTOWN Recordings.
