Cornwell’s development as a producer becomes evident as he masterfully chops, dubs and pitch-shifts the vocals whilst intricately building the melody into an epic cinematic soundscape.

GhostChant

Undeniably one of the finest representations of Liverpool’s underground sound, Joe Cornwell has been making steady progress over the past few years, establishing himself as one of the city’s most in demand producers by releasing a string of future garage delicacies under the guise of GHOSTCHANT.

However, with a forthcoming debut LP, set to be released on the prominent BBE Records – home to the likes of Dimitri from Paris, Pete Rock & Henrik Schwarz – it would seem that this progress is set to rapidly accelerate come 2014.

Whetting the appetite of his ever growing following, the first single from his yet-to-be-named album, Laid to Rest draws in the listener with probing melodic jabs which are soon complemented by ethereal atmospherics and a scratchy 2-step beat before Anthony Kastelanides’ emotive vocals are introduced. As the song progresses Cornwell’s development as a producer becomes evident as he masterfully chops, dubs and pitch-shifts the vocals whilst intricately building the melody into an epic cinematic soundscape.

Set to be officially released at the Shipping Forecast on HALLOWEEN, Laid to Rest has already generated immense interest with a number of high-profile producers lining up for remix duties including garage heavyweights CHIMPO and BANGATANG as well as Drum & Bass aficionados KOLECTIV.
